Field Upgrade Agreement and Migration Rights

What are downgrade or migration rights?
OEMs may purchase newer OS but install and deliver an earier OS on a system with the ability to upgrade to the newer OS without having to pay for an additional runtime license.  The distributed "Prior Software" on the Embedded System is to be for temporary use with the "Final Software's" Certificate of Authenticity (COA) affixed.
The "Final" software can be deployed to systems with a "Prior" image via a Recovery Image that can be provided either on external media or via OEM website as a download in accordance with the terms and conditions of the License Agreement.
The Prior Software Recovery Image can only be distributed on the Embedded System, either on a separate partition or a separate hard disk drive on the Embedded System
The "Final" oftware must be a successor version of the "Prior Software". Contact Avnet's Microsoft team for details on which versions are associated as "Prior" and the successor "Final" versions.
