Microsoft releases Service Pack 1 for Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7) and Windows 7 for Embedded Systems (FES).
WES7 SP1 Public CTP
Windows Embedded Standard 7 (better known as WES7) Service Pack 1 includes previously released update, hotfixes and a new feature, RemoteFX. RemoteFX, when used with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, creates a media-rich user environment for virtual desktops, session-based desktops and remote applications. You can now download the Public CTP for Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 by following these three easy steps:
- Use your existing, or create a new, Windows Live ID to log in and download the Public CTP from MSOps.
- Once logged in, go to the Connection Directory, locate Windows Embedded Standard 7 Service Pack 1 Public CTP and click on apply. The Windows Embedded Standard 7 Service Pack 1 CTP program page will automatically open in your browser.
- Then select "downloads" on the Windows Embedded Standard 7 Service Pack 1 program page.
Windows 7 SP1 for Embedded Systems
The Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for Embedded Systems (Windows 7 FES) includes previously pushed updates as well as a couple of new technologies: Remote Desktop Protocol 7.1 (RDP7.1) with RemoteFX, SD Boot and the SKU Compliance Package.
