Ken Marlin Makes Avnet and Microsoft History

On April 1st, Avnet’s Ken Marlin was awarded Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. Though notified on April Fools Day’s, this was no joke. Ken is only the second MVP within the history of the Avnet Americas team, and one of few winners in the Americas for the embedded field, since the beginning of the program nearly two decades ago. The MVP award was designed to recognize exceptional community leaders who continually educate and share their technical expertise with others in the community. Ken was recognized for his passion and commitment to the Windows Embedded technical community in the past year. Though Microsoft primarily focused on activities of the past year, becoming a part of this elite group has been years in the making. Of the award Ken had this to say “It’s an amazing honor and something that I’m very excited about.  It feels like winning an Oscar or an Emmy!  It feels great when a supplier recognized you for all the hard work and focus you’ve put in over the past year to make them successful.  My family and friends know that I bleed Microsoft and I know that many of our customers have felt my passion, but this is what makes it all worth it and allows me to show proof that I am truly a Microsoft MVP.”

Those of us who work directly with Ken know that not only is this well deserved, as Ken’s passion for Microsoft is palpable, but that the award is a long time coming. Join us in congratulating Ken by commenting below, or drop him a line via email.

Congratulations again to our own embedded resident MVP!
